Inserting and Appending Bytes

RPM Remote Print Manager™ allows for the easy insertion and appending of bytes when network printing jobs are received by RPM.

  • User interface supports "shortcuts" or predefined keys to input various bytes.
  • User interface supports input of either hex or decimal characters.
  • ASCII table can be found in RPM Help or the RPM manuals for identification of characters.

RPM provides the ability to remove bytes at the start of the data as well as inserting and appending data. The Remove Bytes function is performed prior to inserting, so inserted bytes are unaffected. PCL codes can also be removed.

Insert Bytes

Using our built-in byte editor you can insert bytes or a file before the print job data. Example uses include:

  • Insert a custom banner page or report header
  • Send an overlay to the printer, such as a form or watermark
  • Set the printer to a specific mode

Append Bytes

With our byte editor you can also append bytes or a file after the print job data. Example uses include:

  • Append a document trailer
  • Return the printer to the "normal" mode
  • Append form feeds to clear report from secure boxes
