RPM Development Roadmap for Windows 95-based platforms
This page lists the features and issues that were resolved in each minor release of RPM 9x beginning with version 2.5.0.19 and continuing to the date we discontinued RPM 9X, February 2008. This page will not be updated after Feb 2008, you can view the RPM Elite and RPM Select development roadmap at any time.

- Fixed issue where banner page overwrote the data on the first page of the print job.
- Resolved control file preservation when a queue does not provide an alternate path, now saved in the spool folder.
- Print license no longer cuts off the right side of the paper; now can wrap lines.
- DCOM95 is now included in the installation program.
- Fixed a problem in the option to translate LF to CR/LF.
- Jobs are not accepted via the Telnet protocol when the queue is disabled.
- RPM now saves the windows that were opened previously so the same windows come up next time RPM is started.
- Added functionality to change the location of the spool folder.
- Fixed a problem with editing queues created with uppercase names.
- Filter applications can now access information about the print job using environment variables.
- Fixed problem accessing Operator Job Control dialog.
- Improved performance when loading extremely large log files.

- Settings in the Print Data Options dialog have been relocated to more appropriate locations.
- New icons have been implemented to better display and represent various items to users.
- The filter program was always provided the short filename representation; this has now been fixed.
- A new window, the Resource Status, has been added to provide the user the ability to see windows resources used by RPM.
- A new window, the Queue List, has been added to easily view and access print job and queue settings.
- The Help file has been updated to reflect new additions and features of RPM.
- An option has been added to overwrite files when a filename collision is detected. Before, a -1, -2, etc. was the only option.
- Remove PCL codes option has been enhanced to remove all PCL codes, including graphics.
- Batch files are now shown by default when browsing for filter programs.
- Users can now successfully specify a range of pages to print.
- Software license manager enhanced for relicensing software and connecting through proxy servers.
- Queue Status window would not display job names longer than 16 characters. It has now been increased to 40.
- Various default settings modified to support recent changes in today's operating systems.
- Added support for importing and exporting configuration. This is done from the File menu.
- Support for specifying the destination folder of the control file information.
- Added banner page support for all queue types. Previously was only allowed in text type queues.
- When printing a banner and inserting files or bytes, the file or bytes were inserted only after the banner. RPM now provides a way to select where the information is inserted.
- Opening the Queue Status window after it was closed manually caused too many spaces between print job information.
- Some dialogs were not using the correct system colors, but instead were forced to a gray background color.
- Some files with embedded null characters were printed incorrectly; this was also causing significant ASA translation issues.
- The suppress blank pages setting now prints blank pages when left unchecked. Before, the pages were not printed regardless of the selection.
- A button to access the About dialog and the Brooks License Manager is now provided in the toolbar.
- Fixed an issue with filename collisions. The file is now appropriately named with the -1, -2, etc. coming before the file extension.
- Fixed a small memory leak in filter queues.
- Resolved problem with disabled queues being created again instead of denying the printing request.
