RPM Elite PDF Watermark

PDF watermark

Using RPM Remote Print Manager® Elite version 5.0 you can now add a watermark, include security settings, add metadata and set permissions on PDF files you create from your print jobs.

You don't need to modify your setup if you are already using the "text markup to PDF" transform. Just go to the user interface, open the transform, and apply the settings you need. If you aren't using it, yet, it's simple to add.

RPM Elite gives you a comprehensive list of settings for PDF creation:

  • You can set keywords and subject.
  • You can set the author, or have use the print job owner
  • You can set the title, or use the print job title
  • You can set the image path and location (see the Text Watermark page for explanation of these settings)
  • You can set the PDF password for owner and group.

If you set these passwords, the owner and group must be different.

If owner password is set, then you can also change settings for reading, printing, copying, editing and annotations. These are all on by default since conventionally you can print or copy PDF files on your own network. However, if you want to restrict access to these functions, RPM makes it easy to do so.

When do I use this?

We are constantly amazed byt the innovative ways our clients use the text markup to PDF transform. However, the two most common uses seem to be:

  • convert an SCS file from an iSeries host to PDF, and archive to disk rather than print to paper
  • attach the PDF file to an email message and send to your manager, co-worker, project coordinator, etc.
